During these past 10 years, doing my best to follow the example and instructions of spiritual teachers, I have found that meditation and study of the teachings alone were not sufficient to experience the soul peace promised by the lineage of gurus.
It is my understanding that to experience full unqualified soul freedom requires not only the discipline to meditate daily and endeavor to understand the writings and instructions of the teachers that came before, but to also accept responsibility for our states of awareness. Complete spiritual practice requires us to make an effort to dis-identify with and eradicate the subconscious conditionings that blur our awareness that, when allowed to express, lead us to make inappropriate choices.
Meditation gives us the ability to find out “who” and “what” we really are. Once we know our immortal eternal nature, it is not enough to continue to act like a human being blown by the winds of fates. First, find out “what” you are. Empowered by that knowing, make different choices. When you see your self acting in a way contrary to what you know to be beneficial to your spiritual growth, act appropriately. It doesn't always work, but in time, with practice, you will do this naturally.
This is how you become a master, and that is what the masters really want for you. Not to be a perpetual seeker, but to be a knower, and to then share that consciousness with others as you are led. You are in control of your life. Claim that realization now.
Best Wishes,
